Psalm 42:8 “By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me – a prayer to the God of my life.”
For you is praise a Sunday thing, a morning thing, a before you eat thing? I’ve started experiencing the strangest phenomenon, my sincerest praise has become a night thing. Weird, I know. The Psalms talk about God being our song in the night, but they were only words until I started noticing this strange thing that was happening in the dark of the night. Being a light sleeper, many sounds will awaken me in the night. Now as I lay there trying to identify the source of origin, my mind is already subconsciously singing songs of praise and I usually catch up to it about midway through the song. It could be a song that we sang on a Sunday, but more often than not it is a song that deals with something I’m going through at that moment in my life. I can only stop and just tell the Lord how much I love Him, and how comforting my “songs in the night” are. May God grant you praise as a night thing, too.
