Psalm 66:8-10 “Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver.”
Call me insane, but I have this fetish (some have been so insensitive as to call it derangement!) – I love to clean house. I love the feeling of what I can accomplish and things being put back to a semblance of order. I enjoy sitting back and seeing the finished product, but the getting there was where I found my greatest satisfaction. I believe our hearts and our lives can be compared to a good Saturday morning housecleaning. Before we begin it can seem overwhelming, but we start in a small corner because sometimes the whole job can be too intimidating. Just as with our house, the sin in our life can obscure the big picture; but, as we yield our lives to the Master Cleaner sometimes He begins in the corner and sometimes He takes on the biggest and dirtiest job. Before we know it our heart and lives are cleaned and we can sit back in His presence and enjoy what the hard labor produced.
