Philippians 2:9-11 “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
We associate many things with a name – personality, prestige, an image – but there is only one name given to us that has the power to save. Jesus. Such a simple name, common and without distinction, but it is the One who carries the name that makes the difference. A common birth, a common childhood, a common name – but at no time in the history of mankind has one person ever affected so many. We can acknowledge His Lordship on our own accord, or acknowledge His Lordship on Judgment Day – one way or the other – there are no other choices. There will be no atheists or agnostics on Judgment Day. I choose to make Him my Lord in this lifetime. Eternity will just be a time extension beyond belief to continue my praise.
