Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
If you’ve spent much time in the Colorado Rockies fishing the rivers of the high country, you can remember seeing huge boulders that literally sit amid the wildness of the rushing river. I loved to find the highest rock and sit upon it and observe creation at its finest. The water might send up a spray, but it couldn’t hurt me because I was safe on a firm foundation. Isn’t it apropos that the Psalmist uses the word “Rock” as one of the names of God? I know that it was a little stone that killed Goliath, but I prefer my stones to be massive and immovable and big enough to climb to safety on. Try meditating while resting on the Rock.
